Albana Koçiu, Minister of Health and Social Protection, attended the national forum “Integrated Health and Social Services Closer to Children and Families,” held in Lezhë.
This event sought to convey the Ministry of Health and Social Protection’s vision for integrated health and social services, as well as innovative models and useful service experiences. The Mayor of Lezhë, Pjerin Ndreu, and the head of UNICEF’s office, Murat Sahin, also attended.
With a focus on sustainability and solidarity, Minister Koçiu underlined, “we are working every day to transform public services from fragmented to integrated and comprehensive socio-health services.”
“No one is left behind thanks to the universal concept of providing social and health services at home, which puts the child and family at the center. “The cornerstone of our social and health policies is safeguarding and promoting the health of children and families,” Koçiu declared.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection aims to strengthen the home visiting system within primary health care by creating a referral system that links vulnerable children and families to different levels of health services and other sectors, providing support from a multidisciplinary team to children and families in need.
